RULES & CONDITIONS 

Welcome to the home page representing the Eric Evans Memorial Shield 2026 .

This year the competition will be held exclusively at The Barton Mills Bell Public House , and shall have a prize pot of over £1200.00. All information regarding the events will be able to be viewed on this website

The competition will be held over five Sundays in August , ending with finals night on the Sunday of Bank Holiday weekend

The first four Sundays will be known as Qualifiers 1 to 4 The fifth Sunday will be known as Finals Night 

Each qualifier will have a maximum of 16 entrants 

Each entrant shall pay an entry fee of £10.00

Four entrants from each of the qualifiers shall progress to the Finals Night .

A raffle and football cards shall be in operation on each of the five nights as we attempt to raise a little money for charity , please give generously , raffle prizes will be gratefully received by the volunteering organising committee .

Any entrant who fails to progress to Finals Night will be able to join a future Qualifier paying a second £10.00 entry fee if there are sufficient spaces available .

Each entrant that qualifies for the Final night will be awarded a cash prize .

Each entrant may select which of the four Qualifiers he or she wishes to play in 

The sixteen places in each of the Qualifiers shall be allocated on a first come , first served basis . 

No one will be deemed to have entered the competition until their entry fee has been paid 

Entrants are responsible for attending the Qualifiers and Final on time , ahead of the advertised Draw Time 6pm

Any entrant not in attendance at the advertised time shall be eliminated from either the Qualifier or Finals Night .

No refunds will be given for non attendees .

Each Qualifier shall provide four entrants to Finals Night ;

via a series of knock out matches to take the numbers from 16 to 12 ,

a round robin to take numbers from 12 to 8 ,

four Quarter Finals to take the numbers from 8 to 4 .

The Finals Night shall operate in the same way as the Qualifiers although two Semi Finals and a Final shall be played to determine the winner .

Each Qualifier shall begin with eight knock out matches (301 Double in , Double out , best of three legs) , the eight winners shall progress to the Round Robin stage , the eight losers will then play in four knock out matches (301 Double in , Double out , best of three legs) with the winners also moving to the Round Robin Stage .

Therefore each entrant will play a minimum of two matches .

The Round Robin stage will consist of four groups with three entrants in each . Each entrant in a particular group will play each other once (301 Double in , Double out , best of three legs), with the overall winner and second placed entrant progressing to the Quarter Finals . In the event of a tie in the Round Robin stage , leg difference will be used to determine the winner , if this does not resolve the tie a nine dart shoot out will be bought into play , with the entrant scoring most points with nine darts being deemed the winner .

Therefore every entrant who progresses to the Round Robin will play a minimum of three matches in the Qualifier . 

The eight entrants who progress from the Round Robin will play in the Quarter Finals on a knock out basis (301 Double in , Double out , best of five legs) , the four winners will be promoted to Finals Night .

The four entrants that progress to Finals Night will have played a minimum of four matches in the Qualifier .

Each Qualifier will operate with 8 initial Knock Out Matches , 4 losers Knock Out Matches , 12 Round Robin Matches and 4 Quarter Final Matches , a total of 28 matches played over two boards

Finals Night will operate on the same basis with the addition of two Semi Finals (301 Double in , Double out , best of five legs) and a Final (301 Double in , Double out , best of seven legs) , therefore an additional three matches taking the total to 31 .

  Prizes (on condition all sixty four Qualifier spaces are filled)

The overall winner of Finals Night will receive £500.00

The Runner Up will receive £250.00

The two losing Semi Finalists will receive £100.00 each

  The four losing Quarter Finalists on Finals night will receive £50.00 each 

The four entrants eliminated from the Round Robin on Finals night will receive £25.00 each

The four entrants eliminated in the opening Knock Out Round on Finals night will receive £20.00 each .

In the event of all Qualifier spaces not being filled the prize fund will be adjusted accordingly with all changes to the prize structure being published prior to Finals Night .
